Welcome to WomenPreaching.com. This is a news and opinion blog about women in ministry, women who preach and teach, women of the past who have preached and taught.
It's definitely pro women preaching, and here to support those who do, encourage those who'd like to, and enlighten those who are open minded enough to examine the reasons why women can and should preach.

Hello my name is Angel. I just wanted to comment a little on women becoming pastors. Let me start by saying that yes in 1 Timothy, Ephesians, and in Corinthians it says that women are under men. That being said lets also look at other scriptures where women have been labeled apostles and desciples. In Galatians 3:26-28 "For ye are all the children of God by faith Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all on in Christ Jesus" it is talking about equality. That in the eyes of Christ, once we accept him we are one, not seperate. Acts 9:36 "Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tacitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. Aquilla and Pricilla taught in Acts 18:25-26 "This man was instructed in way of the LordL and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the thinkd of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquilla and Pricilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly." There are plenty of scriptures which talk about women witnessing. Even Jesus told Mary to go tell the others what she has seen and heard when he rose from the dead. So why can a women not be a pastor and still be under her husband. If a husband is a sinner and forbids church or scripture reading should a woman just sit quietly and obey? Or is she to do what she knows is right in her heart, what Jesus would ask of her? We can be preachers, witnesses, missionaries, decons, and anything else God has called us to be and be a good wife and mother. It is only man who puts stumbling blocks in front of Christians, not God or his son Jesus Christ. As Christians we are called to witness, to spread the news of Jesus Christ to everyone who will hear. So remember the scripture in Galations 3:26-28.

Today's Western Woman thinks she knows better than God! She is self-centered, arrogant, rebellious and strives to unite a culture that will condone her hatred for biblical truth in an attempt to justify elevating herself over her husband's authority - Authority God gave him. She will deny the plain truth of Holy Scripture that tells her about her functional, God given roles in the family unit, society and THE CHURCH! She has even given herself over to the deceitful lie that women can be pastors. But She is in grave error! No amount of perversion of the Greek Text will remove her guilt. She may seek Theological training and pursue a "church" leadership role. She may argue against proper biblical interpretation. She may even blame men in a general scope for being overbearing, mean and controlling. But the REAL PROBLEM IS HER! Women who assume the role of "pastor" in a "church" are only fooling them selves,.. and those who will compromise enough to listen and "follow". It is NOT a legitimate church or ministry. It is NO biblical New Testament Church. She has NO AUTHORITY FROM GOD! And She NEVER WILL! She goes in her OWN strengh! She goes in her OWN power! With every action and word She does and speaks - Christ will NEVER be in it! She has concocted Her OWN Christ in her mind.., And Her relationship with God is not right.., and never will be! Nothing She can say, do or FEEL will change the Truth of Scripture concerning the local Church and The LORD Jesus Christ's commandments, principles, explicit and implicit teachings, and standards for His
Church. She is a feminist! She hates the idea of truly submiting to her own husband and caring for him and her children. She will not follow God's blueprint for her family or life. She will always try to keep a control key in the drawer by seeking support from societal perversion (including other rebellious women, women's groups and psuedo "ministries"). She will try to explain away the first biblical hermeneutical principle of proper and legitimate biblical interpretation... "WHEN IT MAKES PLAIN SENSE, SEEK NO OTHER SENSE"! She will ramble on about Pheobe (who was NO public preacher in the First Century New Testament Church). She will use feeble and needless arguements from history, culture transitions and her silly understanding of the Bible. She will make sophisticated challenges from the venue of her ambitious lies. She will talk about the Holy Spirit of God. She will mention HER GIFTS. She may even profess Mary (Mother of Jesus) as a righteous woman (who actually had no righteousness of her own and needed the Savior to save her from her own sinful nature)! She will do ANYTHING in an attempt to justify her pride and rebellion. Her desire to "preach" is NOT from God. She will call on compromising men to sound off a distortion of the Original Text of Holy Scripture. She will even turn to pseudo-christian information online to strengthen her position. But it will never, ever work! She is not REAL - no matter how many unregenerates (who think they are following Christ) she has deceived! She too is an unregenerate - riding on the carpet of false "religion" with a little bit of Bible thrown in to make it seem proper. She may even read this scathing rebuke and get very angry. She may pretend to be "religious" and say she prays for others - or this author. But this one thing She will NEVER DO! SHE WILL NEVER SUBMIT TO THE CLEAR TEACHINGS OF CHRIST CONCERNING HER, THE FAMILY AND THE LOCAL CHURCH! Her culture has snagged her. The feminist movement has hooked deep into her rebellious soul. She is depravity undercover. SHE IS NOT OF CHRIST!!! Mr. Mark S. Bias

Dear sister, I am a born again Christian of United Methodist Church. I have always wanted to preach and When the church told me I give it A serious consideration,I shared my call to preach with one of my Baptidt sisters and below is what I got from her.
Having a certain position does not necessarily make one more or less influential in the lives of others. Also, we (and our church) do not believe in women becoming pastors. I believe spiritually mature women ought to be leading and teaching younger women, as taught in Titus, but they are not to be teaching men. By standing by your man in loving submission, remaining meek and quiet, modest, hospitable, etc., you will speak volumes to those who are watching you, and many ARE watching you. Take the "narrower" path and do what most women are too afraid to do, not seeking position, but standing by your man, John.
"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" (I Ti 2:12).
"Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing" (Eph 5:24).
"And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church" (I Cr 14:35).
"Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man" (I Cr 11:9).
Our ladies' conference speaker taught us very much, but mostly by how she supported her husband who is a Pastor. I know UMC believes pastors can be women but I cannot see how that can be reconciled with Scripture. God made women, and our amazing bodies, and loves us just as much as He loves men, but we forget our purpose if we try to be like men or take their God-given positions. We are the crown of our husbands, and ought to humble ourselves to God's order for things. Be an example to the women in your church that they too should support their husbands, even if it means suffering persecution so that our husbands will be convicted if they are sinning. It is our reasonable service. John is your Pastor and your husband, your head. Remain under him and see why God planned for marriage to be this way - you will not be disappointed.
Anne, I believe you are making a mistake if you are aspiring to be a Pastor. Be content with what you have and true to the Word. I will be praying for you and the family. God bless you all.
Please advice me,
Anne
